The Tour Itinerary
The full-day castles tour departs from the hotel at 8:00 AM and includes visits to three remarkable properties. The first stop is a stunning German-style castle built in the 1880s by a Prussian immigrant who made his fortune in the Texas cotton trade. The property features original furnishings, a medieval-inspired great hall, and extensive grounds with formal gardens.
The second stop takes you to a grand antebellum plantation home that has been meticulously restored to its 1850s glory. A guided tour through the house reveals the complex history of the region, with docents who bring the stories of the people who lived and worked there vividly to life.
